Aran Yasuoka is a painter in Japan who studied design at Tokyo University of the Arts.

One of the themes of her paintings is “the past and the future”. Using natural objects, such as animals and plants, and machines as motifs, Yasuoka paints animals of fancy living in the future. Contrasting elements including life and machines, and the past and the future are combined in her paintings.

In recent years, Yasuoka integrates Japanese-style elements into her paintings inspired by decorative paper with colorful patterns or figures in the Edo period (17-19th century) in Japan.
