ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2023" will be held at Fukuoka Marine Messe Building B from September 22nd (Friday) to 24th (Sunday) [Preview: 21st (Thursday)]. Shikisaisha would like to introduce three artists: Kisho Kakutani, Mayuno Kobayashi, and Shuya Tajiri.
At this fair, we will exhibit works based on the concept of "Dialogues," with works designed to create dialogue with viewers.
Kisho Kakutani's works are created with the aim of stimulating the imagination of the viewer. The subject matter is scenery through frosted glass or curtains, and the placement of noise is intended to obstruct visual perception and make the viewer imagine, ``What is depicted in this area?'' doing.
Mayuno Kobayashi aims to create empathy and dialogue with the viewer by expressing the fluid images within her in the form of animals and monsters. In his works, a variety of creatures, from ordinary animals to imaginary creatures, appear like comical characters, and the emotions and problems faced by humans are projected onto them.
Shuya Tajiri expresses emotions and inner feelings through colors and shapes, aiming to create some kind of empathy and dialogue with the viewer. The motif is an abstract object, and the drawn lines do not have a specific motif or story, but are created as paintings based on the viewer's preconceptions and images.
The works and spaces created by these three artists create a dialogue with the viewer, proposing an experience that expands new perspectives and sensibilities.
